He caught his fingers in your hair
Right before he cut his throat
The moment was so sincere
Always quoted Robert Frost who once wrote
"A voice said, Look me in the stars
And tell me truly, men of earth,
If all the soul-and-body scars
Were not too much to pay for birth"
Then he bled for awhile
You sat with him in your lap
Turned your tears to anger dear
And walked away just like that
And with the sound of rain
He comes tumbling down again
And with the sun's rays
He burns us all for the mistake he's made
